Synopsis : Golden Harvest production of an early directorial outing from John Woo. 17th century China is under the control of the Manchus, with only Chinese Shaolin monks - kung fu experts - able to offer resistance. The Manchus themselves are led by an ex-Shaolin, prompting the Shaolin Abbot to call on his star student to endure a rigorous training regime and go into battle. 'Flash Legs' Tan stars as the young student, who, on his road to vengeance, encounters a disparate group of followers, including a young Jackie Chan as the brother of a man murdered by the renegade.
