Synopsis : Walt Disney Pictures escape adventure based on atrue story, starring John Hurt and Beau Bridges as Peter Strelzyk and Gunter Wetzel, two men living under the oppressive Communist regime in East Germany. The friends are finding it increasingly difficult to carry on with their work and family life in the oppressive political environment, which permeates every aspect of their lives. Together they plan a daring escape for themselves and their families to democratic West Germany, using hot air balloons to carry them all to freedom.
